Students from two educational establishments have enjoyed a series of presentations led by our education team as part of a number of eco-themed forums.
Year 12 and 13 Environmental Science class students got interactive with demo equipment and experienced a series of talks given by WeSET during New College Swindon’s annual “Sustainability Week” held last November. Some also showed an interest in joining our activities as part of their Gold DofE award. And discussions are now underway between WeSET, the organisers and other participants to develop the festival further with larger, practical workshops.
Elsewhere, we engaged with children from various schools at the Beyond COP 21 Symposium held at Wychwood School in Oxford yesterday (31/1). The pupils asked lots of questions and experimented with a variety of WeSET’s demonstration models before joining us in a panel discussion entitled ‘Youth Voices on Climate Change’.
